The umbra is the darkest part of a shadow — the region no direct light reaches, yet whose edges still hold a glow. The Umbra Orbit studs pair a green lab-created moissanite with 925 sterling silver in an orbit-set design, so metal and stone read as if circling one another — small enough for daily wear, dark enough to keep its own light after sundown.

The stone is a cool seafoam green and eye-clean, cut from lab-created silicon carbide with a refractive index of 2.65–2.69; its dispersion of 0.104, against a diamond's 0.044, throws noticeably more fire, and at 9.25 on the Mohs scale it holds up to everyday wear. This is moissanite set in solid 925 sterling silver.

The stone

0.104

dispersion

Dispersion is how far a stone splits white light into colour. Moissanite throws more than twice what a diamond does — that is the fire you see across a room. It is moissanite, and we never call it anything else.

The metal

92.5

percent pure silver

Solid 925 sterling, all the way through — not plated over brass, not filled. Cut it in half and it is the same metal in the middle as on the surface. It carries a bright platinum finish over solid silver, which is what keeps the white bright.

Sterling tarnishes. That is what sterling does, and a soft cloth brings it back. Anyone telling you their silver never will is selling you something else.

How we make it right

Arrives wrong, we replace it

Damaged, defective, or not the piece you ordered — email us within 7 days of delivery with photos for a free replacement, or a refund if we cannot replace it. Nothing for you to pay.

No change-of-mind returns

A piece can’t be resold once it has shipped, so we can’t take one back because it wasn’t what you hoped for. We’d rather say that before you buy.

What we don’t claim

Sterling tarnishes and polishes back. There is no lifetime warranty, and normal wear isn’t a fault. We’d rather say so than bury it.

Before you buy

The stone

Just tell me straight — is this a real diamond?
No, and we will never call it one. Moissanite is its own gemstone, lab-created silicon carbide, with more fire than a diamond (dispersion 0.104 against 0.044) and a hardness of Mohs 9.25. It is graded to the maker's standard rather than independently certified, and it is named as moissanite everywhere it appears on the site.
Does moissanite go cloudy or lose its sparkle over the years?
The stone does not. Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide, chemically stable at Mohs 9.25, and it does not haze, yellow or degrade with time. What people call cloudy is almost always a film of skin oil, lotion or soap sitting on the facets — five to ten minutes in warm soapy water and a soft brush underneath the stone brings it back. The clouding people fear comes from cubic zirconia, which is far softer.
Will anyone be able to tell it isn't a diamond?
A jeweller will know. Moissanite is doubly refractive where diamond is singly refractive, and a combination tester identifies it immediately. Day to day the tell is fire: dispersion of 0.104 against a diamond's 0.044 throws more rainbow, most obviously in sunlight and in larger stones. Our own guide puts it plainly — if you or your partner specifically want a diamond, buy a diamond.

The silver

What is everything made of?
Two materials, and only two: solid 925 sterling silver and lab-created moissanite. Every piece, without exception. No gold vermeil, no gold-fill, no plated brass, no unnamed alloy.
Will it tarnish?
It can, slowly, with exposure to air and skin. That is the metal living, not a fault — silver reacts with trace sulphur in ordinary air, and every sterling piece from every house does it. A soft polishing cloth brings it back to bright in seconds.
Will it turn my finger green?
We will not make a claim about how your skin reacts, because no page of ours publishes one. What we do publish is the make-up: solid 925 sterling, 92.5% pure silver alloyed for strength, never a plating over something cheaper, with a platinum finish over the solid silver. Silver darkens by reacting with air, and that polishes back. If you have reacted to silver before, write to hello@maisonnoctaura.com before you order.
Can I shower, sleep and go to the gym in it?
Take sterling off before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping. Chlorine and humidity speed tarnish, a hard knock can chip any gemstone, and prongs bend long before stones fail. Fine chains also kink and stretch under a sleeping body's weight.

The house

Who actually runs this? Is it a real registered company?
Maison Noctaura is the trading name. The business is Maison Noctaura LLC, registration number 42-4033580, and the person responsible for what is published is named on the site: Lee Kung. The full registered details, including the postal address, are published in full on our legal notice at maisonnoctaura.com/policies/legal-notice - published so they can be checked rather than taken on trust.
Why are there no reviews on any product?
There are none published, and we will not invent any. What we can put in front of you instead is checkable: the company is Maison Noctaura LLC, registration 42-4033580, with a named person responsible for the site, the registered details in full on our legal notice at maisonnoctaura.com/policies/legal-notice. Every order also carries a 7-day Arrival Guarantee for a piece that arrives damaged, defective or wrong; we do not take change-of-mind returns and do not pretend otherwise.
Why is this more than a similar-looking piece on a marketplace?
We cannot speak for another listing. We can tell you exactly what ours is: solid 925 sterling silver and lab-created moissanite, named as what they are, with single pieces at $99–$395 and suites at $425–$1,036. Our own guide also says be wary of anyone charging near-diamond prices for moissanite — the material does not justify it.

Getting it to you

Is this dropshipping? Where does the piece physically ship from?
Our pieces are selected for Maison Noctaura and produced by our supply partner, and some travel from overseas. We do not run a workshop or a domestic warehouse, and we would rather say that than imply one. Orders typically ship within 1-3 business days and travel tracked.
How many days from paying to it being in my hands?
Orders typically ship within 1–3 business days, and in the U.S. delivery is typically about 5–8 business days counted from when you place the order — that preparation sits inside the window, not added to it. Those are estimates rather than guarantees, and we quote the total rather than a flattering best case. Outside the U.S. the published windows are U.K. 5–8, Europe 4–10, Canada 7–10, Australia 5–10 and elsewhere 7–14, counted the same way. Tracking goes out the moment it ships.
What is your return policy, in plain English?
We do not take change-of-mind returns. If a piece simply is not what you hoped for, or the size or style was ordered in error, we cannot take it back — a piece cannot be resold once it has shipped, and we would rather tell you that before you buy than after. What we do cover is arrival: a piece that turns up damaged, defective, or not the item you ordered is a free replacement, or a refund where we cannot replace it, when you email hello@maisonnoctaura.com within 7 days of delivery. There is nothing for you to pay. Whatever cancellation rights the law where you live gives you are unaffected.
