What your piece is made of

Most of the house is 925 sterling silver: with lab-created moissanite, with pearl, or on its own. The gift sets and the men’s chains are plated eco-brass. Every piece names its metal and main stones on its own page, as our production partner states them, and its plating where the partner names one. Where the partner does not name a small accent stone, the page calls it a clear stone.

925 sterling silver

92.5% pure silver, alloyed for strength — which is all the word sterling is legally allowed to mean. On every sterling piece the base is 925 sterling silver, not brass or another base metal, under the plating named on its page (platinum, rhodium or gold), or listed simply as 'Sterling Silver', with no plating named. Gold-plated sterling is sterling silver with a gold-coloured plating, not solid gold. It tarnishes and polishes back: the honest life of a real metal. A soft cloth and a dry drawer keep it bright; a little patina is the silver living, not a fault.

Lab-created moissanite

Silicon carbide, grown in a lab: a gemstone in its own right, with more fire than a diamond and a fraction of the cost. It is moissanite, not diamond, and it is named as moissanite everywhere it appears. Stones of 0.1 ct and over ship with a GRA certificate; the grades quoted are the maker’s. The rest of the range

No gold vermeil, no gold-fill, no unnamed alloy.
